Confederacy - Military
Tennessee

Confederates attack a Union forage train on the Hardin Pike, near Nashville.

Western Virginia

There is a skirmish at Moorefield.

Mississippi
Confederate forces along the Yocknapatalfa Rive r continue to be pressed by Union forces under Ulysses Grant.

Skirmishes also take place at Prophet, Spring Dale, Free Bridges, and Oakland.

North Carolina
Three Confederate blockade runners are captured off the coast.
