The officers with whom
Lincoln had met with yesterday meet again today, this time with members
of the Cabinet. General McClellan, recovering from his illness, also
comes to the White House, believing that his command is being
undermined.
Western Virginia
Beginning on this
day, and extending for 11 days, the 37th Ohio Infantry carries out an
expedition to Logan Court House and the Guyandotte Valley of western
Virginia, opposed by Confederate guerrillas.
